Yes! Our youth program is very popular.

We accept ages 6-14  Cubs & Teens MMA Membership, as well as to join the HATC for general membership with their families. We are also always adding more kids and family classes to our schedule.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is a mash up of Wrestling, No Gi Jiu Jitsu, and Mixed Martial Arts. Tuesdays and Thursdays we practice Jiu Jitsu in the Gi (traditional kimono).

Our focus is on fundamental movements, games disguised as instruction, and discipline.

Youth students must be capable of following instructions and trying their best despite the difficulties of our sport.

What we do is hard for the average kid, but the benefits will last a lifetime if they stick with it! Plus, we have a ton of fun on the mats!

No matter the class, always make sure to bring your own water and shoes/sandals to wear while off of the mats (no shoes on the mats and no bare feet off the mats). Wear appropriate clothing:

  • nothing baggy or loose fitting
  • avoid zippers or any other adornments that can scratch
  • all private parts are covered appropriately

If you’re taking a striking class, you’ll need the following:

  • Gloves (16oz) for Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai
    • MMA sparring gloves for MMA class
  • Shin Guards (Kickboxing, Muay Thai)
  • mouthpiece
  • handwraps
  • athletic cup (protect your boys, boys!)

If you’re taking a grappling class, you’ll need:

  • athletic fit clothing
    • no loose or baggy clothes
    • no zippers
    • avoid tank tops please
  • rashguard
    • it’s a specific, tight fitting shirt, we sell them with our logo!
  • shorts
    • spats underneath optional
  • Gi
    • traditional kimono, only needed for Gi days.

Hygiene is a high priority when it comes to martial arts training. Most skin infections like ringworm and staph can be avoided with basic hygienic practices. Here a few things to ensure you don’t deal with skin issues:

  • Always wear shoes while off of the mats. NEVER go barefoot in the restrooms.
  • Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed and clean.
  • Wash hands regularly and shower immediately after practice to prevent skin infections. Having body wipes in your gym bag is also a good idea if you can’t get to a shower immediately.
  • Do not wear your day clothes to practice. Change into your gym clothes before getting on the mats. If you are taking back-to-back classes, have a change of clothes for each practice. A quick hit of deodorant is also a great idea. It’s not fair to your fellow students to have to deal with your sweaty clothes and body odor!
  • Cover any open wounds/scratches before practice. Do not practice with active skin infections. See a doctor and get treatment for the infection immediately. Once the infection has cleared, you can return to training.

We offer discounts to all retired/active military, students, J-1 Visa holders, and first responders. We also offer special senior discounts and short-term financial assistance programs.

Yes! You’ll even see on our schedule some classes are marked “fundamentals.” When starting out, stick to those classes.

Most of our students have zero prior experience. Don’t let that stop you from showing up and trying it out!

Everyone feels silly in the beginning, but everyone who mastered something once started out as an awkward beginner.

In order to become an expert in anything, you have to risk looking foolish at the start. It’s not always going to feel weird. Put in the time and you’ll become more relaxed and less awkward.
